The NTSB stated it is probing the jet’s upkeep logs, which was in the state for fixes several weeks prior to the crash.

Aviation records indicated the jet was on the tarmac in San Antonio, Texas from 3 September to 18 October.

“We are aware that this plane was present in San Antonio,” remarked an NTSB member on the following day, not giving a precise period. “We will review all elements of maintenance that was performed, including the San Antonio visit, straight to the date of the trip.”

Findings of Key Evidence

The pilot’s recorder and information unit were retrieved, and the power plant was found on the airfield.

The units – known as black boxes – were built to withstand accident forces and severe fire from infernos, and they appeared to be in one piece when found among the wreckage. Officials plan on analyzing recordings from the recorders.

The plane’s final recorded information showed an height of 475 ft and a rate of that speed ahead of the impact.

Service History

Headquartered in Singapore ST Engineering, which stated it supplies airframe maintenance for the carrier’s jet and operates a service location in San Antonio, chose not to provide remarks, but said it would cooperate fully when officials contacted it.

Activities Restart

In the meantime, the facility activities resumed that evening with its express or nighttime operation, spokesperson Jim Mayer said. The three runways at the airport were likewise reopened.

The UPS package handling facility in the city is the organization’s most significant. The hub employs more than a large number of people in the locality, processes three hundred aircraft each day and sorts more than 400,000 parcels an hour.

Local Reaction

A candlelight vigil was held on the evening of 6 November by the local labor union, which supports employees at the aviation hub, the firm’s largest freight center.

The union chapter, which supports UPS workers, began the memorial with a moment of silence at that time, the estimated hour of the crash two days earlier.

“This tragedy was so unexpected, so unexpected,” the mayor told the crowd of two hundred. “No one had a chance to bid farewell to any one of those who we have mourned.”
